Water
The potable water on our farm comes from a fresh, volcanic spring source a few kilometers above us on Maderas volcano, Jerusalem. This is the water supply for much of this side of the volcano. We’re one of the first places that it passes on its way down the folds of the volcano. It’s gravity fed to the accommodations and kitchens from our closed storage tanks above us on the farm.
We pass it through clay filters, which traps bacterias and any sediment, before using for human consumption. The water in your rooms is ready to drink. The water from the tap can be used to fill the clay filters.
Our open-top water supply visible from the restaurant is used for watering our nursery and our animals, the pigs love a muddy puddle to cool off in. It has lake fish (mostly tilapia) in the tank to ensure no mosquito populations can grow.
